The world¡¯s favorite female soccer player is celebrating her 24th birthday today, so here at Soccer Confidential we decided to roll back the years and see what Alex Morgan has worn on her feet since her career kicked off.



Alex Morgan became the darling of American soccer in the summer of 2011 with some stunning performances for the women¡¯s national team prior to and during the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup that summer. She has since gone on to become one of the top players in the world, so let's take a look at the soccer cleats that helped her acheive soccer stardom!



Alex Morgan first plied her trade for the University of California, Berkeley women¡¯s soccer team. Despite continual absences from collegiate matches due to commitments with the youth and senior national teams, Morgan still managed to lead the Golden Bears in scoring as well as a place in the NCAA tournament each of the four years she attended the school. She ended up leaving the school third on its all time goal scoring chart along with a number of nominations to prestigious national awards. Like Wayne Rooney, Alex Morgan was, up until recently, a Nike T90 Laser player for the majority of her career. She even sported the very first T90 Laser in the alternate launch black and red colorway (above) for the Golden Bears as well as for the women¡¯s youth national team.



Alex Morgan rose to fame in the summer of 2011 at the FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany. Despite being the youngest USWNT player, Morgan proved to be an integral member of a team that defied the odds and made a dramatic run to the final. Morgan notched her first goal of the competition in the 82nd minute against France in the semifinal to seal a 3-1 victory. She then topped this feat with an inspired performance, coming off the bench to provide a goal and an assist in the final against Japan. Although the side ended up losing to Japan, Morgan could be proud of her performance; she became the first woman to record a goal and an assist in a FIFA World Cup Final. Throughout the tournament, Morgan wore a pair of Nike T90 Laser III cleats in a white, black, and orange colorway (above).



If 2011 was a good year for Alex Morgan, then 2012 was a truly a year to remember! Her achievements included scoring her first hat-trick for the national team, finishing third in voting for the Women's FIFA Ballon d¡¯Or, winning US Soccer¡¯s Female Athlete of the Year, and an Olympic gold medal. Morgan led the way for the USWNT at the London 2012 Games by scoring three goals and notching four assists on the way to a memorable victory against Japan in the final. One particular moment to cherish was her extra time goal in the 123rd minute against rivals Canada to seal a place in the final. She ended the year with an incredible record of 28 goals and 21 assists.
