Several of Nike’s latest Vapor IX colorways were inspired by the Mercurial boots of the past. The idea of a release inspired by previous colorways is something very common in sneaker and clothing releases, but this is one of the first times we have seen it in an accessible form in the boot world. For the older crowd that was around when the originals were released, this is a very exciting idea.?It was also important that Nike chose old releases that fit in well with today’s colorways, and the colorways of the other boots in their portfolio. I personally think Nike accomplished this in an eye catching way.
