adidas is continuing its recent trend of releasing limited edition cleats with the most unique pair of soccer shoes ever, the Yohji Yamamoto F50 adiZero.



Joining the releases of a new white Copa Mundial and the light reflecting Enlightened Pack, the Yohji Yamamoto is the latest limited edition shoe to be released by adidas this past month. While the other two were surprising, the Yamamoto is simply jaw dropping.



Named after award winning Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, the man responsible for the adidas Y-3 fashion brand, adidas has come out with the most distinctive pair of soccer shoes we have ever seen.



The Yamamoto design is comprised of two imperial lion-dogs, who as legend tells it, were responsible for protecting the emperors of Yamamoto¡¯s native Japan. The design not only pays homage to ancient myths however, as it also is tipping its hat to the modern sci-fi culture that is so prevalent in Japan today.





When asked about his creation, Yohji Yamamoto said, ¡°My inspiration is a mixture of ancient traditions and modern sci-fi from Japanese culture. I hope the inspiration of the shoe harmonizes the players and gives them extra confidence to express themselves without any fear. People should feel free to express themselves. Just follow your own instinct.¡±



Although they might look completely different at first glance, the Yamamoto F50 adiZero will be the exact same performance-wise as the stock standard F50. This includes the SprintFrame chassis and SprintSkin upper.



Despite only just releasing the Englightened Pack, adidas will outfit a few select players in the new Yamamoto F50. Some of the lucky recipients include Lucas Moura, Mauro Icardi, David Alaba, and Gyasi Zardes among others.

adidas will only be releasing 2000 pairs of the Yamamoto F50 adiZero, so if you want to get your hands on a potential collector¡¯s item, then make sure to put your order in on Monday, October 28th.
