Lionel Messi just surpassed Gerd Muller’s record number of goals in a calendar year by scoring both goals in Barcelona’s 2-0 win this past weekend. It takes his tally to a magnificent 86 goals in 66 games and increases his stake in the debate about who is the greatest player of all-time. We saw Messi debut these in the Copa Del Rey final, where he managed to bag himself a debut goal in the colorway. A pretty decent looking boot on pitch, they also helped Messi cross the 50 goal mark.

Another colorway that seemed to be a preferred choice of messi, he amassed an impressive 22 goals while wearing them before this series of the adiZero was retired.

Goals #75 through #86 – Vivid Yellow/Green Zest

The first colorway in the new F50 adiZero III range, Messi surpassed the record and garnered some extra attention around their release. They have become his “multi-goal boots” – every time Messi has scored wearing them, he has bagged a second.
